Please yourself

Thoughts:
I start scrubbing with circular motion from right part of the feet to the top then back down again. Feels invigorating. I can smell the soothing scent from the scrub, a little flour-y. I sense blood circulating and my sense of being just woke up. After scrubbing, I plonk some great citrus scented shower gel. It’s from Bliss bought from Sephora. The feel is minty and it totally wakes up my senses as I smell the minty scent. The body feels minty and tingly too. Totally refreshing and invigorating!

As I shower the cool water cools down the body. Feels squeaky clean! NOt forgetting the feet I pour some peppermint foot scrub from Crabtree. I scrub it in circular motion.

I follow up with papaya whitening cream from D’hiver spread and let it absorb around my body. For the feet, I pour some foot cream on them.

Feels great and clean. I’m all ready to have a rest and just enjoy the moment….

Review:

While exploring consciously of the pleasure I seek during shower, I realized I’m more aware of the feelings and particularly the scent - how I consciously smell and really felt the scent entering my nose and breathing in the scent into my body makes the whole ritual pleasureable. I felt centred and clear, more absorbed and tuned-in to what I was doing at that moment. I didn’t feel guilty or undeserving at all and felt I deserve that pleasureable activity. I love it. It lifted me away of sad thoughts or other thoughts that seemed to bother me in an undesirable way. I felt a sense of calmness as I consciously feel centred and taking time to notice what I was going through as I washed myself. It’s a pleasure to be feeling that way and it helped me realize to appreciate the moment, my body, the Divine Being who created me and the elements He lay for us - water, scent etc..

Bickersbed

If you ever decide to visit Amsterdam but do not want to lodge in a hotel, then I would recommend Bickersbed. There are actually a couple of really nice apartments to lodge but we decided this was within our budget and it’s located a 10 mins walk from the train station.

Bickersbed is situated in an area named ‘Bickerseiland’ in the historical centre. It is an unspoilt area of Amsterdam close to the Jordaan and the Haarlemmerstraat, a trendy and varied neighbourhood with an arthouse cinema, galleries and many restaurants.

Bickersbed is located on the streetlevel of a historical building from the 17th century. In Bickersbed the guestrooms have a bathroom with shower and toilet, excellent quality beds, fully equiped kitchen. TV including CNN & BBC, and further more you have access to DVD player + wifi internet.
Coffee and tea is available.

Azra and I thought that was the best lodging place we ever had for our whole trip considering it was our last stop before heading back. So we had quite a restful moment…will tell you why next time…

Bickersbed has two levels. From reading the review, it’s best to choose the upper deck since you won’t be bothered by sounds of footsteps. It’s spacious. Lucky us, we didn’t even request for the upper deck. I love how the landlord cleverly design his studio by maximising every space.

Europe Trip:1

On the very day of our departure, we were told that our airplane had been changed and they had to transfer us to Quantas and from Frankfurt we’d be boarding a domestic flight to Amsterdam. Azra’s parents took us to the airport and well then we’re off. (more…)

That S$5 Note

That S$5 dollar note
that didn’t mean to you
That S5 dollar note
You begged us to change for you

Under that scorching heat
You didn’t give up
“Please ma’am, can I change this note to dinar?”
Under that scorching heat
You didn’t give up..

Surrounded by barbed wires and men with guns
Inspected us all around
How can we ignore you brother
When you dearly need a dinar, not a dollar note.

Under that scorching heat
You didn’t give up
“Please ma’am, can I change this note to a dinar?
Please ma’am.”

I watched you
You poor chap
What’s it like to live surrounded by barbed wires
and concrete walls?
What’s it like brother to be like a prisoner in your own land?
What’s it like brother?

You finally got a 20 dinar.
“Thank you ma’am.
I shall give this bracelet to you.”

I cry for you, I will pray for you, brother..
I left that bracelet behind, maybe for a reason..
That I might soon be back..
I still cry for you brother…

That $5 dollar note
That didn’t mean to you
That 20 dinar note
From me to you….

Tis almost the end

of the year…wow how time flies and how busy some of us have been. At least I was and since Raya..it was non-stop activities in school and at home..10 more days to go and counting. Yup, the trip!

Ok none of you have yet to make a guess, except Gray..heh

I’ve been coughing and I’ve stopped taking the doc’s medicine…as usual I rely better on garlic and cod liver oil pills + honey + black seed oil. Ok…I should have taken the garlic and cod liver oil pills way before October.

Anyways, 1 more task to go that is submitting my work review and yes…another flea market :) This Sunday, 2nd Dec. at Holland Road. So, Jes if you’re free do drop by:)

Other than that, I’ve kept in touch with my childhood friend I found on facebook and I suppose it’s God’s call that I did. Julie just told me she’s been diagnosed with cervix cancer.. 2nd stage… wish you well for the Chemo, Julie..

Time to for a well deserved rest for now…
